SEVEN STRAIGHT WINS; CHANDLER MASTERCLASS GIVES BATAVIA 6-0 WIN

BATAVIA, NY- Riding a 6-game in-league win streak, your Muckdogs have everything to prove,
and they did just that. Batavia’s Evan Brock came out the gates swinging, hitting an RBI double
to the right center gap, scoring Jalen David making the score 1-0. Two innings later, Brock
would step up again and deliver again, hitting a 2 RBI triple back to right center, scoring both
Jalen David and Cooper Russell, making the score 3-0. Fast forward to the top of the 8 th , after
facing 26 batters and throwing 89 pitches, Gavin Chandler’s day was done, as he received a
standing ovation for his 7-shutout innings of stellar baseball. The boys would continue to back
him up, however, as Jackson Inman hit a RBI single to right, scoring Cooper Russell, then Evan
Brock showed up once again with his third extra base hit of the game, smacking a double down
the left field line, scoring both Inman and Jalen David once again, making the score 6-0. Garrett
Beaver would come in in the top of the 8 th and would continue the masterclass of pitching to
finish out the game, as your Batavia Muckdogs would beat the Auburn Doubledays 6-0.
Offensively for the Doubledays, they would be held to 4 total hits, two of which were doubles off
the bats of Teddy Monahan (1 for 3, 2B, BB) and Brendan Smith (1 for 2, 2b, BB). As for your
Batavia Muckdogs, Evan Brock would light up the Doubledays’ pitching staff, going 3 for 4 with
2 doubles, a triple, and 5 RBIs, while extending his hit streak to 9 games. Other notables on
offense for our Muckdogs include Jackson Inman (1 for 4, run, RBI) and Jalen David (2 for 3, 3
runs, BB, SB).
Gavin Chandler would pick up his 3 rd win of the season for the Muckdogs, throwing 7 innings of
4 hit ball, striking out 5 in the process. Matthew Chofay would take his 1 st loss of the season back
to Auburn as he threw 5 innings of 4 hit ball, striking out 5 as well. Garrett Beaver would pick up
his 2 nd save of the season.
The Batavia Muckdogs will be home next on Friday, June 19 th at 6:30 where they are taking on
