MUCKDOGS TIE? MUCKDOGS TIE TARP SKUNKS 12-12

July 10, 2026

JAMESTOWN, NY- The name of the game tonight in Jamestown happened to be wack strike

zones and questionable calls by the umpires. This one started immediately in the 1st as Cooper

Russell hit an RBI single scoring a returning Jalen David. That run would be reciprocated on the

flip side as Nolan Smith would ground out to second, scoring Grant Moore, and Dom Castillo

would hit an RBI single of his own in the 2nd to put the Skunks ahead 2-1. Batavia would

answer with 4 of their own on a Cooper Russell groundout scoring Jalen David, a Joey Socorro

RBI single, and a Jalen Vasquez 2 RBI single, 5-2 Muckdogs. Back and forth these squads would

continue to go, shot for shot, tit for tat. Fast forward to the 8th, where the count is 3-2, 2 outs.

The pitch appears to be strike three to us all, but the umpire ruled it ball 4. This would lead to a

Nolan Smith RBI single to tie the game. If that is strike 3 and the inning ends, assuming the 9th

inning stays how it does, Batavia would win 8-7. Instead, this game went to the extra inning,

where the Muckdogs would put up 4 on a Jalen David RBI single, a Cooper Russell walk, a

newcomer Braedon Reina sac-fly, and Jackson Inman scoring on an error, 12-8. Jamestown starts

its comeback as Branson Lindquist hits an RBI double, Grant Moore hit a sac fly, Nolan Smith

hit an RBI single, and Tito Kiefer also hit an RBI single to tie up the game at 12. Then, on an

appeared foul ball, the field ump called catcher’s interference, which is not his call to make. The

Muckdogs dugout went crazy as the umps talked over the call, as the call stood as C.I. And

Coach Skip came out, argued and screamed his head off over the decision, and got ejected from

the game. Good news, however, is that that call did not come back to bite the Batavia as the

game ended on a bases-loaded strikeout, 12-12 is your final score.

Offensively for Jamestown, Eric Weeks (2 for 4, 2 RBIs, run, BB), Nolan Smith (2 for 5, 3 RBIs,

BB), Branston Lindquist (3 for 5, 2 2B, 2 runs, RBI) and Dom Costello (2 for 4, 2B, 3 RBIs, SB,

BB, run) stood out. For your Muckdogs, a returning Jalen David went 4 for 4 with 4 runs, 2

stolen bags, 2 walks and an RBI, Cooper Russell went 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs, 2 walks and a run,

and Jaden Vasquez went 4 for 5 with a double, 2 RBIs and a run.

No pitching decisions were made due to a tie.

The Batavia Muckdogs will be home next tomorrow, July 11th at 6:30 against the Elmira
