MUCKDOGS WIN ON GUARANTEED WIN NIGHT VS DIESEL, MAKE IT 2 STRAIGHT

BATAVIA, NY- In a 7-inning exhibition game vs the Buffalo Diesel, both teams came ready to go, firing out of the gate immediately. Your ‘Dogs struck first, scoring on a bases-loaded Jalen Roque walk, scoring Evan Brock, which started the run-scoring extravaganza. Batavia scored 4 in the first, Buffalo scored 4 in the third, your Muckdogs answered with 5 of their own in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th, which was followed with 4 more from the Diesel in the top of the 5th. Each team would score one more each, Batavia’s in the 5th on a wild pitch that scored Jalen David, and Buffalo’s in the top of the 6th on a wild pitch that scored Jordan Kowalski. In the end when the dust settled, however, your Batavia Muckdogs emerged victorious, winning this exhibition game 11 to 9.

Offensively, Marc DiLeo (3 for 3, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 run) and Jordan Kowalski (No registered AB, 4 BBs, 2 runs) shined, getting on base in every plate appearance they had. For your Batavia Muckdogs, Evan Brock continues to love holding a bat in his hands, going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and stealing a bag (3). Jalen David also had a day, going 2 for 2 with a double, 2 runs scored, and a beauty of a sacrifice bunt that put Evan Brock in position to steal his base.

On the mound, Jackson Reid, the third pitcher that came into the game for the Muckdogs, takes the win home tonight, throwing 1.1 IP with 2 Ks on the day. For the Diesel, Matt Bradley gets pinned with the loss, throwing 2.2 IP with 3 Ks. James Quintero came in and pitched the entire 7th and last inning, striking out the last batter and earning him the save.

Just a note for those reading: an exhibition game, such as the Muckdogs’ games against the Buffalo Diesel throughout the season, will count towards their official record, however their stats will not apply as position players will be pitching and vise versa, essentially being a half day/a day to have fun and play some positions they may not normally play.
