MUCKDOGS SWEEP DOUBLEHEADER ON WALK-OFF SQUEEZE AND 7-2 DUB
June 21, 2026
BATAVIA, NY- Your Muckdogs played in their first doubleheader of the season and blew Olean
out of the water, winning their first of two games 3-2. The scoring of the first went back and
forth, first with Evan Brock reaching on a fielder's choice, scoring Bryan Johnson in the 4 th .
Olean would respond with 2 in the 6 th , the first on a Denny Martin single to right, then on an
Anthony Cordeiro sac-fly that would score Connor O’Mara, making the score 2-1. In the bottom
of the 7 th , Jalen David would tie up the game scoring on a wild pitch, and Cooper Romich would
send a squeeze in between the pitcher and first baseman to walk-off the Oilers 3-2. Reminder,
doubleheader games are 7 innings a piece. Game 2 was a different story than Game 1. In the first
3 innings, your Muckdogs would score 7 unanswered runs, with a 3-run double from Bryan
Johnson, an Evan Brock sac-fly, and a Jackson Inman RBI double in the 2 nd , and a Kyle Vaughn
RBI single and a wild pitch that’d score Vaughn in the 3 rd . Olean would put up 2 runs of their
own, but it wouldn’t be enough as the game would end in a 7-2 Muckdog victory.
Game 1 stars belong to both Muckdog pitchers, Mason Davey and Eric Woodley (W), who threw
all 7 innings combined and struck out 11, 9 for Davey in 5.1 IP and 2 for Woodley in 1.2 IP. The
last, but certainly not least, is Cooper Romich. Romich went 2 for 3 with the game-winning
squeeze to win the ballgame for Batavia.
Game 2 stars belong to Jack Page, Jackson Inman, Kyle Vaughn, and Bryan Johnson. Page threw
5 innings with 9 Ks to earn his 2 nd win of the season. Inman went 3 for 3 with a double, an RBI,
and a walk. Vaughn went 2 for 3 with a double, a run, an RBI, a stolen bag, and a walk. Last but
not least, Johnson went 1 for 3 with a bases-loaded and clearing double while also scoring once.
