MUCKDOGS PUMMEL DOUBLEDAYS IN ROUND 1 ADVANCE TO WEST DIV. CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

BATAVIA, NY- An amazing show of how dangerous the Muckdogs’ offense can be happened

during the game. Your Muckdogs got on the board first in the 1st with an RBI single of the bat of

Braedon Reina to drive in Jalen David, 1-0 Batavia. The ‘Dogs would keep on pounding in the

2nd, scoring on a Brayden Redmond fielder's choice and a Jalen David RBI single to center.

Batavia would then only allow one hit in the top of the 3rd, then get back to business scoring on

a Jackson Inman RBI triple, a Glenn Brooks RBI single, a Cooper Romich sac-fly, and a Joey

Socorro RBI double, adding to their lead to make the score 7-0 after 3 innings. Auburn would

finally get on the board in the 5th on a Nacho Gonzales RBI single, but it would only pad his

stats and be the only run the Doubledays would score the entire game. The Muckdogs would

continue the assault on Auburn by scoring 5 more times between the 5th and 6th innings on a

Cooper Romich sac-fly, an Evan Brock RBI single, a Glenn Brooks sac-fly, and a James

Quintero 2 RBI single. The pitching staff would hold the line, and the game would end 12-1,

Muckdogs advance to the West Division Championship Game!

Offensively for Auburn, Nacho Gonzales went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Justin Batts went 3 for 4

with a double and a run. For your Muckdogs, Jalen David went 2 for 3 with an RBI, stolen bag,

run, and walk, Braedon Reina went 2 for 4 with an RBI, run, and walk, Jackson Inman went 2 for

5 with a triple, RBI, and 2 runs, Cooper Russell went 3 for 4 with 2 runs, and Joey Socorro went

1 for 3 with a double and an RBI.

Gavin Chandler would pick up his first win of this year’s playoffs, throwing 5.2 IP with 2

strikeouts, allowing 1 earned on 5 hits. Joe Williams took an L, throwing 3 innings with 1

strikeout, allowing 7 earned on 11 hits. No save was registered.

The Batavia Muckdogs will be home next tomorrow, July 28th at 6:30 against the Jamestown
