MUCKDOGS BURY PILOTS; NEWARK STILL WINLESS AFTER 11-0 MERCY

BATAVIA, NY- Your Batavia Muckdogs came into tonight evidently pissed off from losing to
the Diesel last night, as they came out the gates swinging. In the 1 st , Jalen David scored in the
first on an error. In the 3 rd , Glenn Brooks and Jackson Inman scored on an Evan Brock three-
bagger, followed up by Jalen Roque and Evan Brock scoring on a Joey Socorro single. Cooper
Russell added to the party with a two-run single, followed up by a Jalen David 2 RBI single.
Glenn Brooks in the 4 th would smack an RBI triple to the gap, followed by an Evan Brock RBI
single to score Brooks. Finally in the 5 th , Cooper Russell would score off a throwing error,
eventually leading to a mercy rule 11-0 win for your Batavia Muckdogs in the 7 th .
The Pilots offensively were held to three hits, one by each of Aiden Davenport (1 for 1, BB,
HBP), Broline Haley (PH for Lucas Orlovski), and Justin Dandeneau (1 for 2). As for your
Muckdogs, the top offensive players today consisted of Glenn Brooks (2 for 3, 3B, SB, RBI, 2
runs), Evan Brock (2 for 3, 3B, 3 RBIs, BB, run) whose now on a 6-game hit streak, (Joey
Socorro (2 for 4, RBI, run), and, last but certainly not least, Cooper Russell (2 for 2, 2b, 2 RBIs,
HBP).
In this dominant victory, Jake Szlis pitched 5 shutout innings, striking out 11, and earning
himself the win. Kyounseo Min would take the L today, pitching 2.2 IP with 2 Ks. No save was
registered today.
The Batavia Muckdogs will be home tomorrow, Sunday, June 14 th at 6:30 where they are taking
