MUCKDOGS BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN VS AMERICANS

BATAVIA, NY- The Muckdogs came out the gate slowly but effectively, scoring 5 unanswered runs in the first 8 innings. Niagara Falls finally landed themselves in the run column in the 8^th, however, as Ryotaro Munakata scored on a Yadiel Santos single, followed up by a bases-clearing 3 RBI double from Matthew Ganschow, creating a 5-4 ballgame. Thankfully for your Muckdogs, that is where the terror stops, as Garrett Beaver came in for the 4 out save, giving your Muckdogs a 5-4 victory over Niagara Falls and stopping their 2-game skid.

The Americans’ top offensive pieces today were the two gentlemen with all four RBIs, Matthew Ganschow (1 for 3, 3 RBIs, 1 BB) and Yadiel Santos (2 for 4, 1 run, 1 RBI), with Justin Gladfelter terrorizing the basepaths with 3 stolen bases. For your Batavia Muckdogs, Evan Brock continues to stay hot, going 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, 2 SBs, and a walk, as Joey Socorro had a good offensive showcase as well, going 1 for 2 with a triple and a walk. The Muckdogs today collectively stole 8 bases as well, continuing to be absolute base-path menaces.

Pitching-wise, Mason Davey of your Muckdogs earned the win this evening, throwing 5 shutout innings against the Americans, striking out 4. For the visiting Niagara Falls Americans, Vincent Favata collects his first L of the season, throwing 3 innings and striking out 1. Garrett Beaver came in at the end of the 8^th and shut the game down, striking out 2 on his way to his first save of the year.
