MUCKDOGS ANNOUNCE FIRST 10 PLAYER SIGNINGS FOR 2026

Batavia, NY- The 2025 West Division Champion Batavia Muckdogs are excited to announce their first ten signings of the 2026 season. 2025 Returners RHP – Garrett Beaver (Salisbury University), RHP - Erwins Branche (Mohawk Valley Community College), LHP- Gavin Chandler (Southern Wesleyan University), Western New York natives INF -Evan Brock (SUNY Brockport) & INF/RPH - Mason Davey (Genesee Community College), local talent from LeRoy NY C/RHP- Peter Clark (Genesee Community College), and new faces OF- Glenn Brooks (Pensacola State College), RHP- CJ Bussell (Iona University), RHP- Brian Cespedes (RHP, Bloomfield College), & UT-Jalen David (Holy Family) will call Dwyer Stadium home next season.

Garrett Beaver is a 6’3, 200-pound Senior Right-handed Pitcher from Salisbury University. This past season, Beaver made 12 appearances for the Seagulls, posting a 2.12 ERA across 17.0 innings pitched with 11 strikeouts.

Erwins Branche is a 6’3, 230-pound Sophomore Right-handed Pitcher from Mohawk Valley Community College. Branche enters his second season with the Muckdogs following a collegiate campaign that saw him log 22.2 innings with a 4.76 ERA and 27 strikeouts in eight appearances.

Evan Brock is a 6’0, 210-pound Junior Infielder from SUNY Brockport. In his lone season with the Golden Eagles, Brock posted a .336 batting average, finishing with 44 hits and six home runs over 36 starts.

Glenn Brooks is a 5’11, 180-pound Freshman Outfielder from Pensacola State College. In his first collegiate season, Brooks batted .264 with five home runs and 21 runs scored across 29 games played.

CJ Bussell is a 6’3, 215-pound Senior Right-handed Pitcher from Iona University. Bussell previously spent time at Palm Beach State College and the University of Dayton. At Iona in 2026, Bussell has made three appearances, totaling 2.1 innings pitched with four strikeouts.

Brain Cespedes is a 6’3, 165-pound Freshman Right-handed Pitcher entering the transfer portal, originally from Bloomfield College. During his time at Bloomfield, Cespedes made 10 appearances, recording five strikeouts over 5.2 innings, while also contributing three runs and three RBIs.

Gavin Chandler is a 6’0, 220-pound Redshirt Junior from Southern Wesleyan University. This past season, Chandler made 12 appearances for the Warriors, posting a 8.50 ERA, across 54.0 innings with 21 strikeouts.

Peter Clark is a 6’1, 195-pound Freshman Catcher from Genesee Community College. In his early start to his collegiate career, Clark has seven appearances where he recorded 21 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.

Mason Devey is a 6’0, 190-pound Freshman Infielder and Right-handed Pitcher from Genesee Community College. In eight appearances during his freshman season, Davey contributed both on the mound and at the plate, posting a 3.63 ERA while producing 40 hits and 25 RBIs.

Jalen David is a 5’10, 175-pound Sophomore Utility Player from Holy Family University. Coming off a strong freshman campaign, David led the Tigers with 54 hits while earning CACC Rookie of the Week honors twice. This season, he has batted .352 through 39 games, collecting 51 hits.
