MAGIC NEVER DIES IN MUCKDOGLAND; BATAVIA CONQUERS CANADIANS 6-2

NIAGARA, CAN.- The magic number for home field advantage in the playoffs is down to 7

after this game. The Muckdogs kicked off the scoring in the 1st on a Braedon Reina groundout

scoring Jackson Inman, 1-0 ‘Dogs. In the 4th, Jaden Vasquez would reach on a fielder’s choice

scoring Cooper Russell, 2-0, followed by a bases-loaded walk of Braedon Reina to score Jeremy

Ramos, 3-0. The Ironbacks would answer with two of their own, both coming on a Hendrik

Vandermeer RBI single scoring Jordan Gallo and Connor Gaitens, however that would be their

only scores of the game. Batavia would drop 3 more runs on Niagara, scoring on a Jackson

Inman RBI double, a Cooper Russell RBI single, and a Braedon Reina RBI double. Landon

Stoddard would come in in the 8th and not look back, shutting down the Ironbacks and beating

them, 6-2.

Offensively for the Ironbacks, Jordan Gallo (3 for 4, run) was the only player on the Ironbacks

with 2+ hits. For your Muckdogs, Jackson Inman went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, an RBI, and 2

runs, Cooper Russell went 3 for 3 with 4 stolen bags, 2 runs, an RBI, and a walk, and Braedon

Reina went 1 for 2 with a double, 3 stolen bags, 3 RBIs, and 3 walks.

Mason Davey improves to 3-0, throwing 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits while striking out

6. Jack Kemp gets downgraded to 0-2, throwing 4 innings of 2 run ball, allowing 2 hits with 4

strikeouts. Landon Stoddard picks up his first save of the year.

The Batavia Muckdogs will be home next tomorrow, July 13th at 6:30 against the Jamestown
