FIRST PLACE MUCKDOGS; BEAT JAMESTOWN 8-6

July 2, 2026

BATAVIA, NY- Coming into tonight’s matchup, your Muckdogs were riding high from a 8-6

victory over the Niagara Ironbacks and were looking to recreate the magic from the night before.

Batavia started off the game hot in the 1st with a Glenn Brooks 2 RBI single to right, scoring

Cooper Russell and Jalen David. The ‘Dogs would add more in the 3rd as Evan Brock would hit

an RBI groundout, followed by a James Quintero RBI single and a Jalen David sac-fly in the 4th

to put your Muckdogs in front 6-0. Jamestown would answer with an RBI double from Grant

Moore in the 6th, then follow it up by draining the stadium of air as Dom Costello would hit a

grand slam, putting the game at 6-5. Kyle Vaughn would answer with a homer of his own, hitting

a solo shot over the left field wall, making it 7-5 Muckdogs. Jamestown would add one more of

its own as Grant Moore would hit an RBI single, but it would not matter as Glenn Brooks hit a

RBI triple in the 7th. Eric Woodley would come into the game in the 9th and shut it down,

ending the game at 8-6, Muckdog W.

Offensively for the Tarp Skunks, Grant Moore (2 for 4, 2B, 2 RBI, SB, run) and Dom Costello (1

for 3, HR, 4 RBI, BB, run) stood out. For your Muckdogs, Jalen David went 3 for 4 with 2 stolen

bags, 2 run and a walk, Glenn Brooks went 3 for 3 with a triple, 3 stolen bags, and 4 RBIs, and

Kyle Vaughn went 2 for 3 with a dinger, a double, an RBI and a run.

striking out 4. Zachary McLean takes the L here, throwing 3 innings with 4 strikeouts. Eric

Woodley is credited with his 4th save of the season.
