EVERYTHING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK; MUCKDOGS WIN WILD GAME V AMERICANS 17-8
July 9, 2026
BATAVIA, NY- The events in this game that all 1,888 spectators witnessed on Stop DWI Night
at Dwyer Stadium were wild, and the only outcomes of plays that did not happen were a triple
play and a home run. You had to be there to know the events. The Americans would start this one
off with a 6-run 2nd inning because of an Anthony Savino RBI single, Adam Weiss scoring on a
fielder’s choice, a Justin Gladfelter RBI double, 2 runs scoring on a ball thrown into foul
territory, and a Matthew Ganschow RBI single. Batavia would respond by Cooper Russell
earning an RBI by walking with the bases loaded but would be answered by Niagara Falls on a
wild pitch, 7-1 Americans. Aside from two more runs scored by the Americans, one in the fifth
and the other in the sixth, no more runs would score for the the visiting ballclub. Instead, your
Muckdogs would go ahead to make an astronomical comeback by scoring 3 in the 5th on a Joey
Socorro RBI single, a Braeden Eye RBI triple, and a Kyle Vaughn sac fly. Batavia would then
put up 9 runs in the 6th, coming on 2 hits, 2 walks, 3 errors, and a sac fly. Batavia would add 1
more in the 7th and 2 more in the 8th on a Joey Socorro RBI double, a Matt Marsh RBI single,
and a Cooper Russell 2 RBI single. Logan Thomas would enter in the 9th, shut down Niagara
Falls, and end this crazy and wild game 17-8.
Offensively for the Americans, Matthew Ganschow (2 for 3, 2B, RBI, 2 BB), Anthony Savino (3
for 4, 2B, 2 runs, RBI, SB) and Loagan Stickler (2 for 3, run, HBP, SB) stood out as the multi-hit
hitters for Niagara Falls. For your Muckdogs, Cooper Russell had 6 plate appearances, however
only one registered at-bat, as he went 1 for 1 with a single, 3 RBIs, 2 stolen bags, 2 walks, 2
runs, and 3 hit-by-pitches, Joey Socorro went 3 for 5 with a double, 4 RBIs, and 2 runs, and Evan
Brock earned the people half-off Tully’s tenders by going 2 for 5 with a double, 2 stolen bags, 2
runs, and an RBI.
