DAVID CONQUERS GOLIATH; MUCKDOGS LOSE 15-8 AT NEWARK

June 28, 2026

NEWARK, NY- Comparing yesterday’s doubleheader games to today’s game at Newark? Very

drastic differences. This game started extremely fast with a Jackson Inman 2 RBI double to left

and a James Quintero RBI single to left center, making the score 3-0 after a half inning. The

Pilots would answer with 5 of their own, in the forms of a HBP, a 2 RBI double from Luke

Brasell, and a 2 RBI single from Holden Forney, making the score 5-3. In the 2nd, Jackson

Inman would drive in Jacob Veczko on a fielder’s choice, a double steal scoring Jalen David, an

Evan Brock RBI single, and a fielding error makes the score 7-5. Everything would start going

heavily down hill, however, as a Holden Forney RBI single and a Lucas Orlovitz 2 RBI double

in the 3rd, as well as a 2-run error on a fielder's choice, a Holden Forney 2 RBI double, and a

Nicolas Nelson sac-fly in the 4th puts the Muckdogs down 13-7. Your Muckdogs would score

once in the 7th on an Evan Brock RBI single, but it wouldn’t matter as the Pilots would score

twice more and beat Batavia 15-8.

Offensively for the Pilots, Holden Forney carried the Pilots to their win, going 4 for 4 with a

double, a walk, 2 runs and 5 RBIs. For your Muckdogs, Jacob Veczko went 3 for 4 with a

double, and Jalen David went 1 for 4 with 2 runs and a walk while adding 2 stolen bases to

continue leading the league in stolen bags as he is now at 25.

Brolin Haley takes home his first win of the season after throwing 4.1 IP with 3 strikeouts,

allowing 3 earned runs on 5 hits. Carter Ward takes home his first loss of the season, throwing

2.0 IP with 3 strikeouts. No save was registered.

The Batavia Muckdogs will be home next tomorrow, June 29th at 6:30 against the Syracuse Salt
